Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 May 2026

This policy explains what personal data I collect through this website, why I collect it, how it's handled, and the rights you have over it. I collect the minimum I need, I never sell your data, and I never use it for advertising.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for this site is Jakob Gricar. For any privacy question or request, contact info@thedharmaacademy.com.

What I collect

Information you give me. When you submit the application or the contact form, I collect the details you choose to enter — typically your name, email address, phone number (if you provide it), your location or timezone, and the answers and messages you write.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, my hosting provider records standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to keep the site secure and working. This site does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking, or fingerprinting.

Why I use it, and the legal basis

  • To read and respond to your application or inquiry, and to take steps you've asked for before any working relationship — on the basis of your consent and to take pre-contractual steps at your request.
  • To send you a confirmation that your message arrived and to follow up if there's a fit — on the basis of your consent.
  • To keep the website secure, available, and functioning — on the basis of my legitimate interests.

Who else processes it

I use a small set of trusted service providers who process data on my behalf, only as needed to run the site and respond to you:

  • Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, and security.
  • Resend — delivers the confirmation email to you and the notification email to me.
  • Google Workspace — the inbox where I read and reply to your message.
  • MailerLite — only if you separately choose to join a list or newsletter; otherwise it isn't used.

Some of these providers may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, it's covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. I never sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

How long I keep it

I keep your data only as long as needed for the purpose it was given — to respond to you and, where relevant, to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence. You can ask me to delete it at any time (see below).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, request a copy in portable form, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email info@thedharmaacademy.com — I'll respond, usually within a few days.

If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Slovenian supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec).

Children

This website and the work offered through it are intended for adults (18+). I don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed; significant changes will be reflected here.
